According to this story at Yahoo!, which was originally posted at the Alexis de Tocqueville Institute, Linus Torvalds did not invent Linux. Clearly the writer of the article is a bit confused. Linus' brilliant response: "Ok, I admit it. I was just a front-man for the real fathers of Linux, the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus."
Posted by Andre at May 17, 2004 09:19 PMI think it's evident that this is part of the same hoopla that has been going on for a while, all the allegations that much of open source was stolen, etc. Is it any coincidence that the article reads just like a SCO complaint rag?
The author also obviously mixes up source code with design. Linux imitates Unix, therefore, it's stolen. Or something.
I would put no stock in this.
