Recently I was browsing the web, and I came across an ad or two for Google AdSense, their advertising program for web site operators. At first I thought it was a google ad, that is, on the google network, much like their public service messages, but as I looked further I realised that this was not a google-served ad, but rather some other advertising system.
So Google does not eat its own poison when it comes to purchasing advertising space, preferring to advertise itself outside of AdSense. Or, if it does eat its own poison, it also eats other poisons. In any case, I can't recall ever seeing an ad for AdSense on google ads.
It might be speculated that their upcoming IPO might have something to do with what could be interpreted as a symptom of a more agressive marketing campaign to promote their advertising network-- in this case, to grow their network and enhance their value permanently.
Interesting. Of course, the value of their advertising network, among other things, is a subject of debate-- more specifically, whether or not Google has been overvalued in setting the suggested share price of $108 to $135.
But this is speculation. Let's wait for further news.
